Women's Tennis Ends Season With Second Straight Win

RESULTS

PORTLAND, Ore. - The Lewis & Clark women's tennis team ended the season on a high note, earning its second consecutive win on Saturday afternoon, defeating the Pacific Lutheran Lutes 6-3.  

The Pioneers, who fell to the Lutes earlier in the season, wasted no time getting to work. Claudia Lew and Olivia Sweetman took down Samantha Lund and Leah Newell 8-4 as the Pioneers top doubles pair. Gillian Lowe and Makena McCluskey followed, defeating Allison McClure and Mariah Siemion by the same margin in the No. 2 spot. Esa Grigsby and Paloma Vizcaino battle strong in the No. 3 doubles spot but were unable to come out victorious, falling 8-2. 

Lew once again denied Newell a point, defeating her 6-3, 6-1 as the Pioneers top singles player. Lowe, who played as the No. 3, also earned Lewis & Clark a singles point, blowing past Megan Beyers 6-3, 6-1. McCluskey and Siemion's once again did battle with McCluskey yet again coming out on top with a 7-5, 6-2 win in the No. 4 spot. Grigsby picked up the Pioneers final point as the No. 5, defeating McClure 7-5, 6-3.
