WALLA WALLA, Wash. - The Lewis & Clark men's tennis team fell to #16 Whitman 9-0 on Sunday afternoon in Northwest Conference action.

Michael Brewer put up a fight at the No. 1 singles position, taking Andy Riggs to three sets. The Pioneer freshman won the opening set 6-4 before falling by the same score in the second. In the third and final set Brewer could not hold on falling 10-6. Kevin Ross lost at the No. 2 spot 6-4, 6-0, while Daniel Hahm slipped 7-6, 6-2 as the No. 3.

Scott Monismith lost 6-3, 6-2 in the No. 4 spot, Cameron Smith lost 6-1 in both sets as the No. 5 and Carter Gee-Taylor fell 6-0, 6-1 in the No. 6 position.

Brewer and Smith were solid as the Pioneers No. 1 doubles tandem, but could not pull out a win over Colton Malesovas and Andrew La Cava falling 9-7. Ross and Morgan Joycelost 8-2 in the No. 2 spot and Hahm and Parker Nichols lost 8-5 as the No. 3.

The Pioneers return to the court on Friday, March 8 at Willamette.
