PORTLAND, Ore. - The Lewis & Clark men's tennis team hosted the Whitworth Pirates on Saturday afternoon in a Northwest Conference match. The Pirates got the better of the Pioneers, taking the match 8-1.
Freshman Olivier Groot earned the Pioneers only point, taking down Daniel Reofern from the No. 1 singles position. Groot picked up a 6-1 victory in the first set before taking down his opponent 6-3 in the second set.
Scott Monismith played a solid set from the No. 4 singles position, taking John Talbot to three sets. Monismith won the first set 6-4, before Talbot settled in to take the second and third.
Lewis & Clark returns to action on Sunday, March 11 at 4 p.m. against the Whitman Missionaries.
