Men's Basketball Falls To Willamette76-73

SALEM, Ore. - The Lewis & Clark men's basketball fell to the Willamette Bearcats 76-73 on Saturday night in the final regular season Northwest Conference game.

Lewis & Clark dropped to 18-7 overall, 11-5 in the NWC. The Pioneers tied for second in the NWC with Whitman College and will compete in the NWC Tournament next week.Willamette concluded its season at 7-18, 4-12 in the Northwest Conference.

Willamette rallied from a 44-37 deficit at halftime. The Bearcats led 74-73 sinking two free throws in a 1-and-1 situation. Lewis and Clark missed two desperation 3-pointers in the closing seconds.

PJ Taylor topped Lewis & Clark with 19 points, while Kyle Meeuwsen added 12 points and 11 boards.

Robbie Kunke put together a double-double before fouling out. Taylor Mounts led all scorers with 25 points and also grabbed 11 rebounds.

The Pioneers will take on Whitman on Thursday, Feb. 24 at 7 p.m. in Walla, Walla for the first round of the Northwest Conference Tournament.
