Senior Karli Mukai scored 23 points over the weekend to lead women’s basketball to a 1-1 Northwest Conference record and their first conference win of the season. Mukai went 4-4 from the free throw line on Friday at Pacific Lutheran, including her final two from the line with 18 seconds left in the game to secure the 58-55 win and finished with 12 points in the game. It was the first NWC win of the season for the Pioneers and the first win at PLU since 2018. Mukai led the team on Saturday night with 11 points at Puget Sound and added two rebounds in the game. She shot 33.3% from the field on the weekend and went 5-for-6 (83.3%) from the charity stripe.
