Randy Heath returns for his sixth year in the fall of 2023. 

Heath started his time with the Pioneers as the linebackers coach in 2018, before also being working as the defensive coordinator for the 2021 and 2022 seasons. He will continue working on the defensive side of the ball and will focus on the team's defensive backs for the 2023 campaign. 

Heath spent 29 years as a high school coach before joining the Pioneers staff. Heath was the head coach at Grant HS in Portland for three years and helped the Generals to a playoff appearance with an 8-3 record. He was the 2017 Portland Interscholastic League Coach of the Year. Prior, Heath was a long-time assistant at Jesuit near Portland, where he was the defensive coordinator for two state title-winning teams, while also serving as head coach of Crater HS in southern Oregon. 

A former NAIA championship student-athlete at Linfield, Heath competed for former Lewis & Clark head coach Jay Locey and started three seasons in which the Wildcats earned a 39-4 record.
