Following an impressive playing career, Isaac Lovings began his collegiate coaching career in the Fall of 2024. He served as the team's catching and assistant hitting coach during the 2025 season.Â
In his first season with the Pioneers, the team's top two catchers both were named to the Northwest Conference All-Conference Team. Senior Justin Cavagnaro earned his first career All-Conference honors (1st Team) and junior Joaquin Sandoval was tabbed to the NWC All-Conference Honorable Mention Team. As a unit, the team's offense made big strides including hitting .280 (+20 points) and scoring more than a run more per game than the 2024 season (7.3).Â

Seeking a new opportunity, Lovings transferred to NWC rival Pacific University, where he excelled both at the plate and behind it. His efforts earned him First Team All-NWC catcher honors in both the 2022 and 2023 seasons as well as beiing recognized as the 2nd Team All-Region10 catcher in 2022 and 1st Team All-Region10 catcher in 2023.Â
Taking advantage of an extra year of eligibility due to the COVID-19 shutdown, Lovings closed out his college eligibility at Division 1 Utah Valley University, before finishing his playing career with a short stint in the Pioneer Independent Baseball League. Â
Lovings, who has a BA in Criminal Justice, is working towards completing his masters in Public Administration. Â
