Daniel Turpen took over as the Pioneers pitching coach entering the 2020 season after three years developing pitchers at McMinnville HS in McMinnville, Ore.

After a decorated career as a student-athlete at McMinnville, Turpen pitched collegiately at Oregon State, where he was the winning pitcher in the national-championship clinching games for the Beavers in both 2006 and 2007.

Following his career at OSU, Turpen was drafted in the eighth round by the San Francisco Giants. He went on to play nine seasons of professional baseball in five different Major League organizations, making it as far as AAA in 2013.

Currently a sales associate for Maletis Beverage Co., Turpen resides in Newberg, Ore. with his wife Elisa and their children James and Madison.
