Bill Allen

Bill Allen

  • Title
    Assistant Coach - Outfield

Bill Allen joined the Pioneers coaching staff just prior to the 2018 season and begins his ninth season in 2026. Originally from Eugene, Ore., Allen graduated from Lewis & Clark in 2002 and was a four-year starter for the Pioneers as a first baseman and pitcher. Allen primarily works with team's outfielders.

During his time at Lewis & Clark, he has helped head coach Matt Kosderka turn the program around in a big way. The team posted their first winning season this century in 2022 (20-17) and they turned in one of their best seasons in program history in 2023. Lewis & Clark went 31-14 and 15-9 in conference play to tie the program record for overall and conference wins during the 2023 season. They set program firsts by making the Northwest Conference Tournament, winning the NWC Tournament and earning a spot in the NCAA DIII Tournament. Over the past four seasons, Allen has helped Lewis & Clark post 20 or more wins three times - it's the program's most successful run since 1987-1990.

Previously, Allen served as the assistant coach at Wilsonville High School alongside head coach Matt Kosderka from 2010-13. During that time, he also coached fall and summer teams for the NW Star Baseball Academy.

Allen has a Master's Degree in Teaching from Concordia University and currently teaches middle school in the Portland Metro area. At home, he and his wife Katie have two children, Alivia and Logan.
