PORTLAND, Ore. – Thirteen Lewis & Clark College women's basketball players scored as the River Otters dominated Northwest Indian College, 78-56, in non-conference action Tuesday night at Pamplin Sports Center.

HOW IT HAPPENED
First-year
Lilly Jordan led three players in double figures with 13 points, while senior
Madelyn Sanchez scored 12 off the bench and first-year
Lillian Morlan added 10 points in her collegiate debut. Jordan scored all 13 of her points in the first half and knocked down a team-high three 3-pointers. Sanchez shot 5-for-7 from the field, including two from long range. Morlan finished 5-for-8 shooting and pulled down four rebounds.
Sophomore
Kaitlen Carns added nine points with three rebounds and two assists. Junior
Divinity Singleton followed with eight points and five rebounds, while also contributing four steals and two assists.
First-year
Kinnedy Scott led all players with a game-high nine rebounds. She added three points, two steals and one assist. Junior
Lauryn Frederickson finished with four points and seven rebounds, tied Singleton for the team lead with four steals, and led Lewis & Clark with four assists and two blocks.
Lewis & Clark opened the game on an 8-0 run, with Jordan scoring all eight points in the first 2:11. She buried a 3-pointer 22 seconds into the game, added a layup just over a minute later, and hit another triple at the 7:49 mark. All three baskets were assisted by Frederickson. Northwest Indian responded with a 7-0 spurt to cut the deficit to 8-7, but the River Otters held a 16-12 lead after one quarter.
The River Otters extended their advantage in the second period, outscoring the Eagles 26-10. Lewis & Clark opened the quarter on a 13-0 run, highlighted by first-year
Hailey Perez's (five points) layup and free throw at the 8:52 mark. Jordan connected from beyond the arc 30 seconds later to push the lead to 22-12. Sanchez drained a 3-pointer at 6:49 to make it 29-12. Lewis & Clark carried a 42-22 advantage into halftime after Frederickson converted two free throws in the final seconds.
Lewis & Clark maintained control in the third quarter. Singleton scored the period's first basket with a layup at 9:50, followed by consecutive field goals from Carns to extend the lead to 48-24. Frederickson capped a 9-0 run with a fast-break layup in the final seconds, sending the River Otters into the fourth quarter ahead 65-37.
Northwest Indian mounted a brief rally early in the final period, as Jasmyn Torres scored nine points during an 11-6 run that trimmed the margin to 71-48. First-year
Anna Chang (two points) answered with a driving layup at the 5:23 mark to restore a 25-point cushion.
BY THE NUMBERS
- Lewis & Clark outscored Northwest Indian 40-20 in the paint.
- First-year Ky Roussin scored five points, juniors DJ Kendrick and Isabella Bernard added three each, and senior Tatiana Rebanal chipped in one point to round out the scoring.
- The River Otters held a 48-28 rebounding advantage, including 17 offensive rebounds that led to 19 second-chance points.
