LONGVIEW, Texas — Lewis & Clark College men's basketball could not overcome a late first-half scoring run by LeTourneau University in a 94-82 loss Saturday afternoon at Solheim Arena.

HOW IT HAPPENED
Andre Treadwell paced the River Otters with 22 points on 9-of-15 shooting from the floor. The senior added eight rebounds in 26 minutes.
Sophomore
Marcus Bast recorded 10 points and a team-high seven assists. Senior
Justin White contributed 12 points and tied Treadwell with eight rebounds, while junior
Yigit Arcan finished with seven points, five rebounds and four assists. Sophomore
Donovan Beard provided eight points off the bench, connecting on 2 of 3 from three-point range.
Lewis & Clark first scored when White converted a turnaround jumper in the paint at 18:43 to tie the game 2-2. The River Otters took their largest lead at 13-7 on a fast-break jumper by Treadwell at 15:03.
LeTourneau responded with an 8-2 run to tie the game at 15 just over seven minutes into the game. The Yellowjackets took the lead for good, 20-18, when David Martinez hit a fast-break layup at 11:44, and he extended the lead to 25-21 with a three-pointer at 9:40. Lewis & Clark pulled within two possessions multiple times over the next six minutes but could not regain the lead. The hosts took a 43-33 advantage into halftime after a 9-2 run to close the frame.
Lewis & Clark opened the second half with jumpers by Treadwell on back-to-back possessions, but LeTourneau answered with consecutive three-pointers and a free throw by Jackson Mayes to start a 13-2 run that extended the lead to 56-37 with 17:05 left in the game.
The River Otters trimmed the deficit to 14 points at 63-49 following free throws by Bast at 13:03. Lewis & Clark continued to battle, pulling within 12 points at 86-74 on a steal and layup from junior
Jayven Jones with 3:45 remaining. Beard hit his second three of the game with 48 seconds remaining, but the Yellowjackets held on for the win.
BY THE NUMBERS

- Senior Kody Uyesugi added six points, hitting 2-of-5 from three-point range.
- Lewis & Clark held LeTourneau to just 11 second-chance points, despite being out-rebounded 48-37.
