La Verne opened the game with two layups before the River Otters responded with a 7-0 run on a Bast three-pointer and layups from Jackson and Treadwell. The opening 20 minutes featured four ties and eight lead changes.

COACHES CORNER

Head coach Shanan Rosenberg on the River Otters' first road win of the season:

"I was so proud of our ability to withstand some very physical and aggressive play from La Verne. I give them a ton of credit. We could have easily lost that game, given how they were playing tonight.

I thought our defense won that game for us down the stretch. We had multiple guys with four fouls, went small, and found a way to defend and score. Through charges in the second half were huge momentum swings, and our guys made real toughness plays.

Justin White was spectacular in the second half, and it was so great to see Yigit Arcan make some great plays tonight. Taien Jackson was exceptional down the stretch and made key plays for us to win.

Andre Treadwell is playing at a high level and really gives his heart and soul to our team. He was amazing tonight."
