The Pioneers played the Pirates close for over 60 minutes and had a brilliant chance to tie the game just after the hour mark. Whitworth would pull away with a penalty kick goal in the 63

Whitworth's leading scorer Dominic Gusman led the Pirates attack with a goal and an assist. Substitutes Johny Cortez, Lucas Diaz and Lucas Joehnk all scored for the visitors who earned their third-straight conference win.Ā

The visitors grabbed a 1-0 lead at 25:41, when Gusman led the Pirates on a counter attack and found Cortez for his second goal of the year.Ā

Lewis & Clark nearly tied the game just after the hour mark. Schwartz forced a save by Whitworth goalie Aiden Chase from inside the box. The rebound bounced out to HammondĀ Ā at the top of the box and he blasted a shot that forced a diving save from the Whitworth keeper.Ā

The Pirates responded with an insurance goal less than two minutes later. The Pioneers were whistled for a foul in the box and Gusman calmly slotted home his penalty kick to make it 2-0.Ā

Diaz stretched the visitors lead to 3-0 at 72:50 off a counter attack and a strong finish from distance. Whitworth capped off the scoring at 82:30 on Joehnk's first goal of the season.Ā

- Whitworth outshot Lewis & Clark 17-8 and 9-5 on shots on target. After being outshot 10-2 in the first half, Lewis & Clark closed the gap to 7-6 in the second stanza.Ā
