THE BASICS
Lewis & Clark 4, Bushnell 1
(Lewis & Clark 1-1-1)
HOW IT HAPPENED
Schreifels scored all three of her goals in the first half of the game to give the Pioneers a 3-0 lead at halftime, and Akimoto-Albarado extended the lead to 4-0 with the first goal in the second half.
Junior keeper
Delaney Jones started in net for the first time since 2022 and earned her first career win with three saves, all in the first half.
Sophomore transfer
Iris Stutzman found Schreifels in the box at 11:09, and the senior found the back of the net on the near post to go up 1-0. It was Stutzman's first career assist and Schreifels's 25
th career goal, which moved her into sole possession of third place in program history.
Almost exactly 20 minutes later, junior back
Abby Morrow kicked the ball from midfield. The ball sailed just over Schreifels' head in the box, and the forward scored her second goal of the game.
In the 43
rd minute, first-year
Kailani Pascua kicked the ball from the right side of the net, and Bushnell keeper Natalie Romero stopped the score, but Akimoto-Albarado was there for the rebound. Her attempt was blocked, and she passed out to the top of the box to a waiting Schreifels, who kicked it into the top of the far post for her first career hat trick. Schreifels' fourth goal of the season is her 27th career goal, which ties her for second in program history.
Bushnell switched out their keeper in the second half, while Lewis & Clark switched out everyone but Jones and senior back
Abby Hayes. In the 57
th minute of the game, Akimoto-Albarado was one-on-one with new Beacon's keeper Ency Soto Jacobo, who came off her line. Akimoto-Albarado's first shot was saved by the keeper but bounced right back to the forward, and she put it in the open net for her first collegiate score.
The Beacon's Sara Hart was able to put a goal on the board for the visitors in the 67
th minute as she snuck a ball past Jones.
