PORTLAND, Ore. –Lewis & Clark College women's tennis honored seniors
Arielle Bloom and
Seraphina Vossen in a pre-match ceremony Saturday. The seniors went 3-0, including winning the fourth and fifth team points to clinch the dual over Linfield University 6-3 in the Lewis & Clark Tennis Dome.

HOW IT HAPPENED
The Pioneers took a 2-1 lead after doubles play, while Vossen,
Susanna Anand, and
Charlotte Makoni went 2-0 on the day to lead Lewis & Clark.
Makoni and junior
Hayley Kreps earned the first win of the morning, 8-3, over Emily Redwood and Lisa Ponti at number three doubles.
Freshman
Emma Loucks and junior
Kacie Lau fell in the second singles flight 8-3 to Kaitlynn Canubida and Samantha Baltz.
Vossen and Anand played the closest doubles match of the day, winning 8-6 over Sarah Forester and Emma Tuttle.
Anand gave the Pioneers a 3-1 advantage at number one singles. The sophomore won the match 6-1, 6-1 over Forester.
The Wildcats earned in the fourth singles flight as Loucks fell 6-2, 6-2 to Baltz.
Vossen and Tuttle faced off for the second time this season. Their first meeting went three sets, with three tiebreakers, and ended in a win by Tuttle. Vossen exacted her revenge by taking down the Wildcat in straight sets, 6-3, 6-4, to put the Pioneers a point away from victory.
Bloom faced Canubida in the third singles flight and split the first two sets. The senior won the third and final set and earned her 22-career win 6-3, 4-6, 6-3 to clinch the dual for Lewis & Clark.
Makoni faced Ponti for the second time this season, and the Pioneer freshman prevailed with a 6-3, 6-2 win in the fifth singles match.
Kreps took on Redwood in the sixth singles match, earning a 7-5 second-set win after dropping the first set 4-6. The two played a third set 10-point super tie break, with Redwood prevailing 10-7.
BY THE NUMBERS
- Bloom earned her 39th career win between singles and doubles play on Saturday in her four-year career.
- Vossen has won 19 singles matches in two years at Lewis & Clark, including 10 singles matches this season.
- The Pioneers earned their first win over the Wildcats since March 4, 2017 when they won 5-4 in McMinnville.
