PORTLAND, Ore. – Lewis & Clark College men's basketball scored the first 10 points of the game and led by 33 at halftime on their way to a 99-45 road win at Portland Bible College to open the 2024-25 season.

HOW IT HAPPENED
Sam Henderson led all players with 16 points and nine rebounds with two blocked shots. The senior scored 10 of the Pioneers first 12 points in the game.
Sophomore
Kody Uyesugi (14 points), seniors
Mikey Medlock Jr. (12 points),
Nik Berry (10 points) and junior
Taien Jackson (10 points) joined Henderson in double figures. Uyesugi made a game high four three pointers.
First-years
Jake Rodriguez (two points),
Donovan Beard (five points) and
Marcus Bast (five points) made their collegiate debuts while juniors
Andre Treadwell (nine points) and
Justin White (eight points) made their first appearance with Lewis & Clark. Beard, Bast and Treadwell led the team with three steals each. White was second on the team with seven rebounds.
Seniors
Ryan Trunkett and
Khalil Glover-Dodson had five and four rebounds, respectively. Trunkett chipped in eight points and Glover-Dodson had five assists.
The Pioneers established their dominance early, building a substantial lead in the first half. Lewis & Clark's offense proved unstoppable as they put up 56 points before the break, while holding the Arrows to just 23 points. The defensive effort continued in the second half as the Pioneers maintained their commanding presence on both ends of the floor.
The second half saw Lewis & Clark continue their strong performance, outscoring Portland Bible 43-22. The Pioneers' depth and defensive intensity proved too much for the Arrows to handle throughout the contest.
BY THE NUMBERS
- Lewis & Clark made 17 three pointers in the contest, the most by the team since they knocked down 17 in a 100-89 win over Warner Pacific on November 20, 2013.
- The Pioneers bench outscored all of the players for Portland Bible with 66 points.
- Lewis & Clark scored 37 points off of 24 Portland Bible turnovers.

The Pioneers travel to Santa Cruz, California to for an early season tournament next weekend. They face Pomona-Pitzer on Saturday at 3 p.m. in the first game.
