PORTLAND, Ore. – Lewis & Clark College men's basketball fell 75-65 to Warner Pacific University on Saturday afternoon despite a strong first-half performance.

Sam Henderson led all Pioneer scorers with a season-high 18 points, while first-year
Jake Rodriguez added 11 points. Senior

The Knights established an early advantage, building a 7-0 lead in the opening minutes. First-year
Marcus Bast found Treadwell outside the arc to start an 11-4 Lewis & Clark run.
Donovan Beard tied the score at 11-all nine minutes into the game. The first-year scored four points during the run.
Lewis & Clark took their first lead at 18-17 with 7:19 remaining in the first half when senior
Khalil Glover-Dodson (six points) connected on a jumper. The teams traded leads throughout the remainder of the first half, and the Pioneers fought back from a second seven-point deficit to enter halftime trailing by just one point, 33-32, after holding the Knights scoreless over the final two-plus minutes.
Lewis & Clark briefly took the lead at 34-33 to start the second half on Henderson's jumper at 19:47. However, Warner Pacific responded with a decisive run, outscoring the Pioneers 30-12 over the next thirteen minutes to build their largest lead at 63-46 with 6:42 remaining.
The Pioneers mounted a late comeback attempt, with Henderson scoring nine of his 14 second-half points and senior
Sebastian DePrez (six points, four rebounds) grabbing crucial boards down the stretch. Lewis & Clark managed to cut the deficit to single digits in the final minutes, but Warner Pacific's free-throw shooting sealed the victory.
BY THE NUMBERS
- Henderson leads the team with 14.8 points per game this season and is the only Pioneer to score 10 or more points in all five games.
- Bast leads the team with 16 assists in four appearances and has an 8.00 assist-to-turnover ratio.
- Medlock Jr. is sixth in the Northwest Conference with a 78.9 free throw percentage after going 5-of-7 against the Knights.
