PORTLAND, Ore.—Lewis & Clark College women's basketball set two single-game records and all 11 players who saw action scored, to lead the Pioneers to a 115-45 win over visiting Northwest Indian College on Tuesday evening.Ā

HOW IT HAPPENED

The Pioneers put together one of the best offensive displays in program history to dispatch the visiting Eagles. Lewis & Clark set the single-game program record for assists (34) and points in a half (73 – first half) and just missed tying the program record for field goal percent (62.7).Ā 
Ā 
As a team, Lewis & Clark shot 62.7 percent from the field (47-75), knocked down 9-15 3-pointers (60 percent) and 66.7 percent (12-18) of their free throws. The Pioneers dominated in most categories including a 60-10 edge in points in the paint, 59-5 lead in bench points, 32-11 advantage in points off turnovers and a 20-3 margin on second-chance points.Ā

Senior Charlotte Carroll led the way for Lewis & Clark with a team-best 18 points. The senior forward was super-efficient in 13 minutes of action - finishing 7-11 from the field and adding nine rebounds (five offensive).Ā

Senior Jamison Richards and Kaela Guidry each added 17 points. Richards finished 6-10 from the field and knocked down all four of their 3-point attempts. Guidry recorded a new career-high in points after going 8-9 from the field in just nine minutes.Ā

Senior Ashley Young was the fourth Pioneer in double-figures. The senior nearly doubled her career high for points in a game with 12 points on 5-7 shooting. Young added four rebounds and two assists.Ā

Lewis & Clark dominated the game from the opening tip. The Pioneers raced out to a 14-0 advantage in the opening 3.5 minutes and extended their lead to as many as 27 (35-8) thanks to a 13-0 run late in the stanza.Ā

The hosts kept the pressure on in the second quarter and used a 13-1 flurry to push their advantage to 51-14 with 5:40 to go before halftime. Lewis & Clark broke the record for points in a half with 98 seconds to go before halftime, when freshman DJ Kendrick drained a jumper to make it 69-20.Ā

The Pioneers would add 25 more points in the fourth quarter before tacking on 17 in the fourth for their highest point total in over seven years.Ā

BY THE NUMBERS
  • Senior Natalie Elstone and sophomore Emily Newton were the top two Pioneers playmakers on Tuesday. Elstone recorded a career-high and game-high eight assists, to go along with five points, five rebounds and four steals. Newton chipped in a career-high six assists. She also tacked on seven points, five rebounds and four steals.Ā 
  • The Pioneers 73 points in a single-half broke the previous program record of 68 points set against Cal Tech on November 27, 2022. Lewis & Clark's 115 points on Tuesday was just shy of the program record for total points in a single-game, which was also set in the contest against Caltech (121 total points).Ā 
  • Senior Karli Mukai and sophomore Madelyn Sanchez just missed out on double-digit points with nine points apiece.Ā 
  • The Pioneers 34 assists broke the previous program record of 30 assists set against Holy Names College on December 7, 1991.Ā Ā 
  • Freshman Lauryn Frederickson filled the stat sheet with seven points, a game-high 11 rebounds, five assists, two blocks and two steals.Ā 
  • Lewis & Clark's field goal percent of 62.7 was just 0.1 shy of tying the program record. The Pioneers shot a program record 62.8 percent against Columbia Christian on December 12, 1992.Ā 
  • Freshmen Divinity Singleton and Kendrick each put together their best collegiate games. Singleton posted a career-best seven points on 3-6 shooting, including hitting her first collegiate 3-pointer. Kendrick also recorded a career-best seven points and she added five rebounds and one assist.Ā 
  • The Pioneers went over 100 points for the first time since November 25, 2016 when they defeated Walla Walla University 108-34.Ā 
  • Lewis & Clark posted season-highs for field goal percentage, 3-point field goal percentage, offensive rebounds (18), total rebounds (49) assists, steals (18), forced turnovers (29) and opponent's field goal percentage (24.4).
  • Tuesday's win was the first Pioneers home victory since December 5, 2022 when they knocked off Warner Pacific University 61-59.Ā Ā
