FOREST GROVE, Ore. – For the first time since 1991, Lewis & Clark College men's soccer took to the pitch to play a Northwest Conference game, a 4-0 loss to Pacific University on Sunday afternoon.

HOW IT HAPPENED
The first half of the game was pretty uneventful as Pacific outshot Lewis & Clark 5-0, but none of those shots were on target, and neither team could capitalize on their corner kick opportunity.
Coming out of the locker room, the Boxers scored their first of four goals in the 50
th minute. The Pioneers attempted to score the equalizer off a corner kick in the 54
th minute. Junior
Wesley Esparza Salazar found the head of freshman
Nadav Dicovski in the middle of the box, but Pacific keeper Zach Aderinto made a leaping save to his lower right to deny Lewis & Clark.
With the Boxers up 3-0, Pioneer junior
Beno Boda drilled a free kick from distance at the 64:25 mark that Aderinto was able to stop from entering the bottom left corner. Boda attempted to put the Pioneers on the board again in the 81
st minute, but his shot sailed wide right of the goal.
BY THE NUMBERS
- Freshman goal keeper Micaiah Garan came off the bench, allowing one goal and saving one. He leads all Pioneer keepers with 11 saves in three appearances.
- Dicovski's header was his first career shot on goal, he is second on the team with four shots this season.
- Lewis & Clark was out shot 17-3 by Pacific in the game.
