PORTLAND, Ore. – The Lewis & Clark College women's tennis team will return to the Northwest Conference postseason tournament after missing the tournament a year ago with a 5-4 come-from-behind victory over Pacific University on Sunday.

HOW IT HAPPENED
The Pioneers earned the first point of the day in doubles play but were down 2-1 after completing all three matches. Freshman
Susanna Anand and sophomore
Kacie Lau blanked Keilyn Futter and Angela Nguyen 8-0 at No. 2 doubles to earn the point. Sophomore
Caren Uribe and junior
Seraphina Vossen dropped the No. 1 doubles match 8-1 to Cassidy and Sydnie Binder. Anna Emerson and Anneke Hanson edged out junior
Arielle Bloom and sophomore
Hayley Kreps 8-6 at the three spot.
Bloom tied the match back up for the Pioneers, serving up double bagels at No. 3 singles with a 6-0, 6-0 win over Nguyen.
The Binder sisters put the Boxers up 4-2 with identical 6-2, 6-2 wins at first and second singles. Anand fell to C. Binder, and Uribe dropped the No. 2 match to S. Binder.
Vossen kept Lewis & Clark in the match with a 6-1, 6-0 win at No. 4 singles over Futter.
Lau took No. 6 singles 6-0, 6-2 over Hanson to tie the match back at 4-all.
With the season on the line, Kreps earned a straight-set win 6-2, 6-1 over Emerson in the number five match and extended the Pioneers' season.
BY THE NUMBERS
- Lau finished NWC play with a perfect 4-0 record in singles.
