SALEM, Ore. – Eight Lewis & Clark College women's tennis players contributed wins, and freshman
Yenenesh Cohen only dropped four games in two matches to lead the team to a 9-0 Northwest Conference road win over Willamette University on Sunday.

HOW IT HAPPENED
Cohen and sophomore
Caren Uribe earned the first point of the day for the Pioneers with an 8-2 win at No. 3 doubles over McKenna Turner and Paisley Lieske. Junior
Arielle Bloom and sophomore
Hayley Kreps defeated Alexa de Crinis and Ruby Thompson 8-3 at No. 2 doubles. Junior
Seraphina Vossen and freshman
Susanna Anand overpowered Richelle Suzuki and Anika Groener 8-0 at the No. 1 spot to earn the final doubles point.
Sophomore
Allison Gabelman played at No. 4 singles for the first time this season and took the match 6-0, 6-1 from Turner.
Fellow sophomore
Lauren Smith-Euben secured the dual win for the Pioneers with a 6-0, 6-3 win over Thompson at No. 5 singles.
Bloom won her second consecutive singles match at No.2 with a 6-2, 6-3 win over Suzuki.
Uribe won the first set at No. 1 7-5; then de Crinis took the second set 6-3. The two played a 10-point tiebreak in the third set to decide the match. Uribe was down 6-2 in the tiebreak and won eight of the next nine points to secure the 10-7 win.
Cohen played No. 6 singles for the first time in her collegiate career and defeated Lieske 6-1, 6-1.
The No. 3 singles match between Vossen and Groener was the last to finish. The two-set match took over two hours to complete, with Vossen emerging 6-4, 7-5.
BY THE NUMBERS
- Cohen is 3-2 in duals this spring. She is 2-1 in doubles play with three different partners.
- Vossen has now won three straight in singles play.
- Bloom is 2-1 at No. 2 singles in duals this season.
- Lewis & Clark has won 13 consecutive duals against Willamette.
