PORTLAND, Ore. – Lewis & Clark College baseball earned their third back-to-back 20-win season in program history and first since 1987-88 with a 3-2 comeback non-conference victory over Corban University.

HOW IT HAPPENED
Senior
Jack Thomson hit a 2-run homer over the center field fence in the bottom of the seventh inning to give the Pioneers their first lead of the game and tied the program record for career home runs with his 39
th long ball.
Corban scored first in the top of the second on a double steal when Chris Grayson stole second, and Elijah Maris stole home to go up 1-0. Lewis & Clark answered back in the third when Thomson hit a high fly ball to center field with the bases loaded. Corban's Brad Pellkofer muffed the catch, Thomson reached first safely, and senior
Henry Goodier scored from third. The Warriors regained the lead when Maris scored on a Pellkofer single up the middle.
Senior
Noah Ferruggia took home the no-decision in his first start of the year with 5.1 innings, three hits, and two runs. Senior
Kevin Kane, freshman
Nathan Kerr, and sophomore
Brennen Davis combined for no hits and no runs over 3.2 innings. Kerr earned his first collegiate win, and Davis struck out two batters in the ninth to earn his second career save after playing eight innings in center field.
BY THE NUMBERS
- Senior Justin Bailey made his second appearance of the season and scored a run on Thomson's homer.
- Freshman Brandon Gonzaga finished 2-3 in the game and was the only Pioneer with multiple hits.
- Thomson had all three of the Pios' RBI.
- Lewis & Clark won for the second time in the all-time series against Corban; their last win was in March 2010. The two teams have not played since 2015.

Lewis & Clark hosts Northwest Conference leader Pacific in a 3-game series this weekend at Huston Sports Complex. The two teams are scheduled to play a double-header on Saturday, with the first pitch at noon.
