Susanna Anand recorded back-to-back singles points for Lewis & Clark College on Sunday afternoon in a 7-2 non-conference setback to Northwest Conference foe George Fox University.

HOW IT HAPPENED
Lau played her first singles match of the season for Lewis & Clark. She took the first set at number four 6-3 before George Fox's Cassey Hitch won the second set 6-2 to force a third set super tiebreaker. Lau emerged victorious 10-7 in the set to notch the singles point for the Pios.
Anand won the number one singles over Ellie Mangan 7-5, 6-3 for the Pioneers' second point in the dual.
Freshman
Yenenesh Cohen teamed up with Anand and made her collegiate dual debut at number three doubles. The Pioneer duo dropped the match 8-2 to Arianna Rader and Brenna VanderYacht. The Bruins won the other two doubles points. Lau and fellow sophomore
Caren Uribe fell 8-3 to Hitch and Kalli Wiker. Junior
Arielle Bloom and sophomore
Hayley Kreps dropped a close match, 8-5, to Mangan and Olivia Morris.
Cohen played at fifth singles for the Pioneers and fell 6-1, 6-2 to the Bruins' Emily McDonald.
Uribe and Wilker faced off for the second time Sunday in the number two singles match. Wilker emerged with a 6-3, 6-2 win over Uribe.
At the third singles, Kreps and Morris went to a first-set tiebreak. Morris won the tiebreak 7-4 and the set 7-6 (4), 6-3.
Sophomore
Lauren Smith-Euben played her second match at sixth singles this season and dropped a 6-2, 6-0 decision to Elizabeth Cook.
BY THE NUMBERS
- Lau went 2-1 in her first weekend of play for the Pioneers.
- Kreps played the first three matches at fifth singles; this weekend, she played fourth singles against UC Santa Cruz and third singles against George Fox.
- Anand is 3-2 in singles matches and 2-1 at number one singles.
