McMinnville, Ore. – Lewis & Clark College men's basketball attempted to erase a 19-point second-half deficit to Linfield University Saturday night and ran out of time in the 75-69 loss.

HOW IT HAPPENED
Senior
Jack Henderson finished with 20 points and 11 rebounds to record his first double-double of the year and eighth of his career to lead the Pioneers. Fellow seniors
Brenden Patrick and
Grant Stewart were the only other Pios to finish with double-digit points. Patrick had 17 points and four assists, while Stewart had 11 points and six rebounds.
The contest's first half was a closely fought battle, with neither team holding more than a five-point lead in the first 20 minutes. The two teams saw 13 lead changes and five ties in the first half alone, but a Patrick jumper before the half gave the Pioneers a 33-32 advantage. Henderson was 3-5 from long range and had six boards in the first half. Junior
Jayden Simpson dropped seven of his nine points before the break.
Linfield sophomore Trey Bryant hit a layup just under 18 minutes left in the game on his way to a game-high 26 points and gave the Wildcats the lead for good. Bryant scored 11 points over the next five minutes to extend the lead to 53-43. Lewis & Clark pulled within 53-48 on a Henderson three with just over 11 minutes left.
A 14-0 run by the Wildcats gave them a 19-point advantage with 5:21 to go. Patrick would score 11 of the Pioneers' final 21 points to close the scoring gap. Henderson hit his final three with two seconds left, but time ran out on the Lewis & Clark comeback.

- The Pioneers fell into a tie with the Wildcats for the fourth and final Northwest Conference tournament spot with two regular season games left.
