TACOMA, Wash. – In a tale of two halves, Lewis & Clark College women's soccer conceded three second-half goals to the University of Puget Sound in a 3-0 Northwest Conference loss on Sunday.

HOW IT HAPPENED
Senior
Giselle Bodeen recorded a career-best five shots with one on goal, and fellow senior
Sophia Young notched three saves in the first half to keep pace with the Loggers and head into halftime with a 0-0 tie.
The Pioneers had three shots off before the Loggers even registered their first attempt of the game, and Bodeen had two of them; one was blocked, and the other sailed wide left. Sophomore
Kate Meinhard was the third shot from the top of the box that Logger keeper Megan Schellhase stopped to her right in the ninth minute of the game.
Young notched her first save in the 10
th minute of the game and wasn't challenged again in the first half until the final five minutes. At 40:01, Puget Sound's Zoe Fowler booted a shot from point blank that bounced off Young for the save. The Logger's Ava Cholakian followed up with a shot blocked by junior
Abby Hayes and a second shot blocked out of bounds by senior
Grace Billings. Less than two minutes later, Zoe Witter sent a lobbing shot from range into the hands of Young.
Emily O'Neil scored Puget Sound's first goal at 48:48 on an assist by Kya Scott. Senior
Celeste Schreifels attempted an equalizer for Lewis & Clark in the 57
th minute, but her shot sailed to the right of the net.
Witter found Fowler in the 79
th minute to put the Loggers up 2-0. Fowler scored her second goal at 87:04 on an assist from Cholakian.
BY THE NUMBERS
- The Pioneers had seven shots in the first half but only managed to fire off one shot after halftime. The Loggers held a 19-8 shot advantage for the game.
- Young faced a season-high 19 shots against the Loggers.
- Schreifels has registered at least two shots in the past four games, her longest stretch this season.
