The Pioneers outscored the Panthers 18-12 in the fourth quarter but that wasn't enough to overcome a 17-point first-quarter deficit in the loss at the Puget Sound Tournament.

Mukai hit a career-high eight field goals and tied her career-high in steals with three as she led Lewis & Clark against Chapman. She had eight points through three quarters, then got hot as she scored 12 of the Pios' 18 points in the final stanza.Â

Junior
Natalie Elstone had a career-high four steals and hit a career-high five shots from the charity stripe against the Panthers. She was second in scoring for the Pios with nine points. Elstone and Mukai led the Pioneers with three assists apiece. She was also one of three players with seven rebounds in the game to lead Lewis & Clark. Fellow juniors
Charlotte Carroll and
Jamison Richards also had seven rebounds each.Â

Freshmen
Emily Newton and
Madelyn Sanchez both scored career-highs against the Panthers. Newton finished with four points. She also had career-highs in rebounds (5), assists (2), and steals (3). Sanchez added six points for the Pios off a career-high two baskets from long range. Both of her threes were in the last 27 seconds of the game.Â

Senior
Kendal Jones added six points off 3-5 shooting and pulled down five boards. Junior
Ashley Young had two points and two rebounds off the bench for the Pios.Â

At halftime, the Pioneers were down 48-28. Chapman extended the lead after three to 65-44. The Pios were able to pull within 15 to end the game.Â
