Geena Fong

Geena Fong joined the Lewis & Clark coaching staff prior to the 2015 season and coached for three seasons as an assistant coach focusing on goalkeeping.

From 2011-15, Fong was a student-athlete for the Lewis & Clark women’s soccer team and was a constant as the team’s goalkeeper from the start. Beginning with her freshman year in 2011, Fong started eight matches and played 15 total. The Honolulu, Hawaii native led the team with 66 saves that year. From her sophomore to final season, Fong started in 36 of the team’s next 38 games and finished her career with 349 saves and a 1.27 goals-against average. She played in a total of 75 games and tallied 15 shutouts in over 6,400 minutes played. During the 2014 season, Fong totaled nearly 1,912 minutes in goal, which ranked 22nd in the nation. Two years prior, Fong ranked 24th in the nation after saving 21 shots on goal against Linfield.

Fong was named Northwest Conference Defensive Student-Athlete of the Week once in 2012 and twice in 2014. Following the 2011 and 2013 seasons, Fong was selected as the All-NWC Honorable Mention goalkeeper. In the 2013 season, Fong set career highs with 99 saves and a 1.24 goals-against average. 

In addition to assisting head coach Jim Tursi, Fong works for Providence Health and Services in Vancouver, Wash.
