Mari Alvarez joined the Lewis & Clark softball coaching staff in the Fall of 2025. The 2024 Lewis & Clark alum will serve as a graduate assistant during the 2026 season while she wraps up her graduate degree.Â
Alvarez is one of the most decorated players in program history. She closed out her five-year career in 2025 as the program-record holder in career games played (192), games started (185), hits (186), doubles (41), hit by pitches (43) and at-bats (541). She also finished in the top-five in program history in career RBI (122 - 2nd), on-base percentage (.442 - 2nd) and runs scored (96 - 3rd). Alvarez became the first and only five-time All-Conference honoree in 2025. She was named to the Northwest Conference First Team in 2023, the Second Team in 2022, 24 and 25 and the Honorable Mention Team as a first year in 2021. During the course of her five seasons, she helped lead the Pioneers to the NWC Tournament for the first three times in program history and Softball earned their first-ever NCAA Tournament berth in 2025. Lewis & Clark posted a 112-89 record across her five years and set new program records for victories in 2024 (28) and 2025 (32).Â
