Jim Tursi enters his 16th season as the head women’s soccer coach at Lewis & Clark College in the fall of 2025. In October of 2021, Tursi was also named head men’s soccer coach. The men’s soccer program debuted in the fall of 2022. He served as the head coach of the men's program from 2021-25, before being named the Director of Soccer in July of 2025.

Tursi took over a fledgling Pioneers program in 2010 that had only returned to the varsity level in 2004. After the program posted six losing seasons in their return, Tursi needed just four years to record the program’s first winning season (2013) since 1985. The Pioneers finished the 2013 season 10-9-1 and have posted winning seasons in four of the last 10 years. He stands as the program leader in both overall wins (87) and conference wins (65) and is the longest-tenured coach in program history.

Women’s soccer set the single-season record for conference wins in 2019 (8-6-2), only to reset that record in their next full season. The 2021 team went 9-5-2 to post their second-straight fourth-place finish in the Northwest Conference. The 2021 team went 11-6-3 to match the 2015 team’s win total (11-8-1) for most wins since the program restarted in 2004. Overall, Tursi has led the Pioneers to four top-four finishes in the NWC (2012-13, 2019, 2021).

During the 2022 season, Tursi coached the program’s first-ever NWC Rookie of the Year (Megan Yanagi) and the program’s first All-Region selection (Brecklyn Beighle) since their return to varsity status. Lewis & Clark set single-season program records for ties (eight) and conference ties (seven), including a tie against NWC Champion Pacific Lutheran University on Senior Day.
