Evan Powers joined the Pioneers coaching staff after graduating from Lewis & Clark College in 2022. He is set to enter his fourth season on staff in the fall of 2025.
In his first three seasons with the program, Powers has worked with four running backs who have earned All-Conference honors. Dyontae Navarrete was named to the Northwest Conference All-Conference First Team in 2022 and Elijah Washington (First Team) and Jordan Lahusky (Third Team) were recognized after the 2023 season. The 2024 season saw Lahusky (First Team) and sophomore Chili Stephens (Third Team) each earn All-Conference recognition. The Pioneers rushed for 1,600 or more yards in each of his first three seasons, their most since the 2017 campaign.
During his four year career as a Pioneer, Powers appeared in 23 games over 3 seasons. He rushed for 203 careers yards and added 19 catches for 104 yards and a touchdown. Powers also returned kickoffs and punts for Lewis & Clark and finished his career with 162 return yards.
The Pearl City, Hawaii native began his coaching career as an undergraduate working Showcase and Youth camps for the Pioneers.
He earned his Master's Degree at Portland State University in Educational Leadership and Policy and is now working as the Assistant Director for Academic & Student-Athlete Services at the University of Portland.
