Clare Ahearn

Clare Ahearn joins the Pioneers coaching staff as a volunteer assistant coach in the winter of 2022 after relocating to Portland from Santa Cruz, California. Clare works primarily with the sprinters, pole vaulters, and jumpers during the indoor and outdoor track & field seasons. 

During her first two years with the program, Ahearn has worked with a multitude of sprinters and jumpers who have earned All-Conference accolades. Sophomore Cameryn Nagaji won the Northwest Conference Title in the Triple Jump and earned All-Region accolades during the 2022-23 season. This past season, freshman Keegan Zaso earned All-Conference honors in the triple jump during the 2023-24 season and five Pioneers sprinters also took home All-Conference accolades. 
 
As a student-athlete, Ahearn finished her career at the University of California, Santa Cruz in the spring of 2021 as a two-time and current record holder in pole vault and triple jump. 
 
Ahearn graduated from the University of California, Santa Cruz with a B.S. in Neuroscience. In addition to coaching, she is an Emergency Medical Technician for Global Medical Response under the ComTrans division and a Pediatric Medical Assistant for Broadway Medical Clinic.
