PORTLAND, Ore. –Lewis & Clark College women's tennis earned their second and most dominant win of the season with a 9-0 victory over NAIA College of Idaho on Sunday in the L&C Tennis Dome.

HOW IT HAPPENED
Eight Pioneers secured wins in the victory against the Coyotes, and notably, all six singles matches were decisively won in straight sets. Leading the charge for Lewis & Clark senior
Seraphina Vossen, junior
Kacie Lau, sophomore
Susanna Anand and freshman
Emma Loucks each achieved a perfect 2-0 record on the day.
Loucks and fellow freshman
Charlotte Makoni earned the first point for the Pioneers as they bageled Hailey Mace and Lauren Osburn 8-0 at number three doubles.
Vossen and Anand followed that up with an 8-1 win at the first doubles flight over Lauren Kreutzer and Nicole Tran.
Lau and fellow junior
Hayley Kreps made it a clean sweep with an 8-5 victory over Anna Willcuts and Elizabeth Sagehorn in second doubles.
Senior
Arielle Bloom served up the second bagel of the day at number four singles. She defeated Sagehorn 6-0, 6-2 to put the Pioneers a point away from clinching the dual.
Vossen and Tran met again in the second singles flight, with Vossen securing the team win with a 6-3, 6-1 triumph.
Anand easily won the first set in the number one singles match over Kreutzer and secured the sixth point with a 6-1, 6-4 score.
Loucks needed a tiebreak to win the first set at third singles but defeated Willcuts in straight sets 7-6 (6), 6-3.
Lau earned her first appearance in a singles match during a team dual this spring and delivered the third bagel of the day to the Yotes. She defeated Osburn 6-0, 6-1 at number five singles.
Junior
Allison Gabelman made the most of her first singles appearance of the spring, defeating Mace 6-1, 6-1 in the sixth flight to complete the sweep for the Pioneers.
BY THE NUMBERS
- Bloom played at fourth singles for the first time this season, she played 10 matches in that position last season and went 3-1 in Northwest Conference duals.
- With their wins today, Vossen and Anand have each earned their eighth victory of the season.
- The last time the Pioneers won a non-conference match 9-0 was February 16, 2018, over Hardin-Simmons.
