HOW IT HAPPENED

Sophomores Caren Uribe and Kacie Lau teamed up for a win at number three doubles and then added a singles win apiece to each finish 2-0 in the victory.

Uribe and Lau opened the match with a dominant 8-2 win over Zoe Richter and Annie Van Den Berg at third doubles.

Puget Sound came back to take their only lead of the match with wins at first and second doubles. At number one doubles, Paige Shinall and Marissa Perez combined to barely defeat Susanna Anand and Seraphina Vossen 8-6. Second doubles was even tighter. Puget Sound's Chloe Ivy-Curwen and Hyla Chatham went the distance with Hayley Kreps and Arielle Bloom, before the Loggers pair earned a 9-7 win in the tiebreaker to win 9-8 (9-7).

Lewis & Clark turned the tide in singles play.

Vosssen evened the match at 2-2 with a blistering 6-1, 6-0 victory at fourth singles over Ivy-Curwen.

Lau gave the Pioneers the lead for good at sixth singles. The sophomore won 6-2, 6-0 over Van Den Berg to make it 3-2.

Kreps brought the Pioneers to within one win of a match victory. The sophomore cruised past Richter 6-1, 6-1 at fifth singles.

Anand clinched the win and avenged her earlier doubles loss, when she defeated Shinall 6-1, 6-0 at number one singles.

Bloom kept the momentum going at third singles. The junior dispatched Chatham 6-2, 6-0.

In the final match to finish of the day, Uribe earned back-to-back 6-1, 6-1 set victories to knock off Perez at second singles.
