Sophomore Michael Spicer won six total events, four individual and two relays over the weekend to lead men’s swimming. Against George Fox on Friday, Spicer beat seven swimmers in the 200 IM, touching the wall 2.47 seconds faster than the second-place finisher with a time of 2:05.87, the third-fastest time in the Northwest Conference this season. He then registered the fourth fastest time in the NWC in the 200 Fly, winning in 2:02.13. Spicer swam the second leg of the 400 Free Relay and helped the Pioneers overcome a five-second deficit after the first 100 yards to take the lead after 300 and win the race by 4.99 seconds, closing in 3:23.83. Spicer took the 400 IM in 4:32.07 and the 500 Free in 5:12.58 on Saturday. He then swam the Fly in the 200 Medley Relay as the Pioneers defeated Pacific by 11:05 seconds, finishing in 1:47.88.
