Junior Aidan Ringel swam on three relay teams, helping each team to a second-place finish, which helped the Pioneer men’s swim team to a second-place finish at the NWC Relay held at Zehntbauer Swimming Pool on Friday night. Ringel swam the anchor leg in all three relays, with the first two counting towards the men’s score. Ringel helped the men’s 3x100 Butterfly relay team earn the first top-two showing of the evening, missing first place by only 0.40 seconds with a time of 2:45.19. In the Crescendo Relay, where each quartet member swims 50 meters more than the previous swimmer for 500 total yards, the quartet finished in 4:27.98 for the runner-up finish. The final race of the night did not count toward the men’s score but did contribute to the combined team score as it was a Mixed 400-yard Freestyle Relay, which saw the Pioneers finish in a time of 3:42.89.
