In women's basketball's last two outings, Kaitlen Carns averaged 10.5 points and four rebounds per game. The first-year shot 71.4% ( 5-7) and hit both of her shots from beyond the arc for 12 points to help the Pioneers snap a seven-game losing streak in a win over UC Santa Cruz before the holiday break. Carns then went 7-of-8 (87.5%) from the free throw line and finished second on the team with five boards in the Pios' Northwest Conference home opener against Pacific.
