Sophomore Malia Heien set three top-15 marks in all of Division III for the season and two top-five marks during Saturday’s Electric Forest Collegiate Open. Heien finished second in the 800M with a time of 2:19.14 and secured the 14th fastest time this season in Division III in the event. She followed that up with the 8th-fastest Division III time in the 1500M, with a PR time of 4:43.09 and the fifth fastest time in program history. In the final event on the women’s side, the Lewis & Clark 4x400M Relay Team, made up of Callow Soto, Heien, Elise Chin and Macy O’Hara, ran the fifth fastest time in program history and beat five other teams, including two from Division I Portland State University with a final time of 4:03.55. Their mark was the 7th fastest time in all of Division III this season and the fastest time by a Pioneers relay team since 2005.
