Susanna Anand went 3-1 on the weekend to lead women’s tennis to a 1-1 start in Northwest Conference play. The sophomore went 2-0 at number one singles and paired up with senior Seraphina Vossen to add a win at number one doubles. On Saturday, Anand earned a 6-3, 6-4 victory over George Fox University’s top singles player to earn the Pioneer’s lone point of the day. She came back on Sunday to earn a pair of wins in Lewis & Clark’s 9-0 sweep over Willamette University. Anand and Vossen defeated the Bearcats top doubles team 8-3. Anand then clinched the fifth point of the dual with a 6-1, 6-2 win at first singles. Anand improved to 11-4 in singles over the weekend.
