Freshman Caden Hodina made his first collegiate start and earned his first career win, a 10-2 victory on Sunday at Pomona-Pitzer. He threw six full innings, giving up only two hits and one earned run against 27 batters. Hodina shut down a Sagehens team that came into the contest averaging 8.33 runs per game (50 in six contests).  After settling into the game, Hodina struck out three batters, walked six, hit one batter and had one putout with an assist in his first outing. With the bases loaded and one out in the bottom of the second inning, Hodina worked his way out of the jam by striking out the next batter and inducing a fly out to center.
