Hannah Palmer (Soph., Ashland, Ore.) competed in the 2008 NCAA Division III National Championships on Saturday, Nov. 22, at Hanover College's L.S. Ayres Athletic Complex in Hanover Indiana. Palmer finished with a time of 22:44.16.

Cross Country at NCAA III West Regionals
The men's and women's cross country teams headed to Salem, OR on Saturday, November 15, to run in the NCAA III West Regionals hosted by Willamette University at Bush's Pasture Park.

Northwest Conference Cross Country Championships
Pioneer men's cross country team finished third this Saturday at the NWC championships, while the women's team placed fourth. Lewis & Clark had five all-conference performers.

Yancey Lawrence NWC Runner of the Week
The Pioneers' Yancey Lawrence was named the Northwest Conference Male Runner of the Week. Lawrence helped lead the Pioneers to a dominant team victory in Saturday's home Pioneer Open.

Men's XC Wins Pioneer Open
The Pioneer cross country won their second race of the season, earning a team victory at their home meet, the Pioneer Open, Saturday afternoon in Estacada. Yancey Lawrence placed second among individuals. The women's team finished second with Hannah Palmer the top individual for the Pioneers.

Cross Country at Pacific Lutheran
The Pioneer cross country teams competed at the Pacific Lutheran Invitational Saturday morning held on the PLU campus on the Lute Golf Course. Yancey Lawrence and Hannah Palmer were the top finishers for the Pioneers.

Cross Country at Charles Bowles
The Pioneer women's cross country team finished 11th and the men 12th at the Charles Bowles Invitational in Salem. Tamma Carleton, in her first race of the season, finished 15th.

XC: Lewis & Clark Invitational
The Pioneer mens cross country team had another strong race, finishing just one point behind Concordia to finish second at the Lewis & Clark Invitational. The Pioneers had six runners in the top-20, with Yancey Lawrence the top finisher for the team. The Pioneer womens team placed fifth.

The Pioneer men's cross country team, coming off Saturday's team victory at the St Martins Invitational, moved up to 4th in the West Region rankings by the USTFCCCA.

Pioneer Men Win St. Martin's Invite
The Pioneer men's cross country team won the St. Martin's Invitational Saturday morning in Lacey, Washington. The women's team placed second. Richie LeDonne was the top individual finisher for the Pioneers.

Cross Country Season Opener at WOU
The Pioneer men's and women's cross country teams opened their season Friday at the Western Oregon Summer End Invitational in Monmouth. Karl Dickman was the top finisher for the men and Kelsey Croall the first across the line among the Pioneer women.

Cross Country Mountain Run
On Tuesday, August 19, 2008, the Pioneer cross country teams headed up 2,000 feet of elevation change along a five mile stretch of the Pacific Crest Trail on Mt. Hood. The "Mountain Run" has been a tradition of cross country pre-season camp for the last eight years. This was the third time that Mount Hood served as the site of the activity.

On Saturday, August 16, the first wave of 2008-09 Pioneer student athletes reported to campus, with the first practices of the season taking place Sunday, August 17 for four of the fall sports.

The 2008 fall schedules for Pioneer cross country, volleyball, soccer and football are now available. Football plays a competitive non-Conference schedule, starting with a game in Illinois against Principia College while volleyball opens the season hosting a tournament at the Pamplin Sports Center. Tamma Carleton Academic All-District VIII
Cross country runner Tamma Carleton became the only Pioneer in the 2007-08 season to be named to an ESPN The Magazine Academic All-District team when she earned first team Cross Country/Track & Field honors. The award makes her a finalist for Academic All-American honors.

The Cross Country team joined with members of the Lewis & Clark faculty, staff and student body to bike over 13,000 miles in the month of September for the Bike Commute Challenge sponsored by the Bicycle Transportation Alliance.

Cross Country Mountain Run
In the Columbia River Gorge, just 30 minutes from L&C, the 2007 cross country team completed their annual mountain run. This year's run started from Horse Tail Falls by the river and climbed 4000' to the summit of Larch Mountain.
