LEXINGTON, Va. -- The Lewis & Clark Pioneers continued their winning streak at the Washington & Lee Invitational. The Pioneers defeated the Washington & Lee Generals (25-18, 17-25, 25-21, 23-25, 15-13) and the DeSales Bulldogs (25-18, 14-25, 25-22, 13-25) back to back on Saturday, their last day in Virginia.
The Pios took the Generals to a five-set match where Kortney Meyer hit a .382. Ka'anelaokapu'uwai Pakaki-Pias had a career high of her own finishing with 26 digs. In the second match, the Pioneers finished their East coast debut with a four set win over the Bulldogs. Ka'anelaokapu'uwai Pakaki-Pias continued to lead the team defensively with 14 digs, and Kendall Malone hit a career high of .300.
The Pioneers had three players selected for the Washington & Lee Invitational All-Tournament Team.

The Pioneers went on an 11 point run against the Bulldogs with Michelle McGinn behind the line leading them with three service aces to help finish the match.

The Pioneers head back West to start conference play with their first game against Whitman College next Friday, Sept. 14.
