MCMINNVILLE, Ore. -- The No. 34 Lewis & Clark Pioneers season finally came to an end at the Northwest Conference Championships on Saturday at the Linfield Tennis Center after they lost to No. 32 Whitman Blues, 5-1.
The only recorded team point for the Pioneers came from Christine Eliazo and Kacey Incerpi. The pair defeated Hanna Greenberg and Andrea Gu in the No. 1 spot with scores of 8-3 and improved their overall record to 10-5.
Natalie Kelly and Glenna Gee-Taylor lost to Mary Hill and Lori Sheng in the No. 2 spot, 8-5. Their record when playing together is 5-2. Adrienne Fox and Chloe Sermet lost to Kattie Pak and Anastasiya Redkina in the No. 3 spot, 8-2.
In the singles matches, Eliazo fought to the end but lost to Hill in the No.2 spot with scores of 6-2, 6-4. Eliazo's final overall record of the season is 8-7. Tash Hood played in the No. 4 spot but lost to Greenberg, 6-3, 6-2. In the No. 3 spot, Madelyn Landerfelt lost to Pak with scores of 6-1, 6-3.
The Pioneers loss makes their overall record 10-5 and conference record 6-2. With the team losing five seniors they currently have five returning players from the 2017-18 roster.
