Track & Field Competes at Mt. Hood Invitational

GRESHAM, Ore. - The Lewis & Clark track & field team took part in the Mt. Hood Community College Invitational on Saturday afternoon in less than desirable weather conditions.

Despite poor weather, the Pioneers Justin Leathers ended the 200m dash in fourth place with a time of 22.80, while Colin Brown took home seventh place with a time of 23.05.

Michael Walker had a solid showing in the 400m dash, finishing in third place with a time of 51.01. Jeff Mullins ended the 1500m run in seventh place for the Pioneers with a time of 4:07.06, while Tyler Sugai ended the 500m run in second place with a time of 16:06.51.

Kodie Artner ended the 400m hurdles with a second place finish with a time of 54.80. Nicholas Pankratz took home fifth place in the high jump with a height of 1.73m, while Bjorn Hansen finished fifth in the pole vault with a vault of 3.66m. Christen Cromer rounded out the Pioneer men in the top-10 after ending the triple jump in second place with a distance of 12.38m.

On the women's side, Alexi Shean won the high jump with a height of 1.58m, beating out all of her Northwest Conference foes. Katie Kowal ended the 200m dash in sixth place with a time of 27.16, while taking home seventh place in the 400m dash with a time of 1:01.40.

Freshman Elisabeth Kirkwood ended the 800m run in ninth place with a time of 2:31.75, while Rachel Stone ended the 400m hurdles in 10th place with a time of 1:10.75.
 
The Pioneer women's 4x100m relay team put together a third place performance, ending the event with a time of 51.11, while the 4x400m team took home fifth place (4:21.91).

Ashley Cox finished the long jump in 10th place (4.87m), while Jeanie Mullins ended the triple jump in seventh place (10.22m) and Brigitte Russo finished seventh in the shot put (11.15m). 

The Pioneers return to action on Friday, March 20-21 for the L&C Spring Break Open.
