Track & Field Concludes Shotwell Invitational

RESULTS

TACOMA, Wash. - The Lewis & Clark men's and women's track and field teams concluded competition at the Shotwell Invitational hosted by Puget Sound. Kevin Carpenter finished the 200m dash tied for third place with a time of 22.87 for the men, while Cheyenne Feliz finished the 400m dash in second (1:01.03).

The Pioneers took on two Northwest Conference opponents Puget Sound and Pacific Lutheran in a meet, which also included Division II schools Western Washington, Central Washington, St. Martin’s, and Seattle Pacific.

Feliz had another great performance coming in first in conference in the 400 and third in the 200 meter runs, while running in the conference second place 4 x 100 relay team. Kirstin Fix and Alayna Oleska came in one-two in the 1500 meter run while Hannah Palmer finished first in the 5000 among conference opponents. Corrine Innes impressively took second in conference in the 3000 meter steeplechase despite running the race for the first time ever, and Chelsea Olsen ran the third best time in conference in the 800 meters. Liska Havel, also on the 4 x 100 team, long jumped the second best distance in conference. Amy Madden threw the third best shot while Liz Johnson threw for the second best discus in conference.

Carpenter had a great day running his season’s best 200 meters to tie for first in the conference, while coming in second in conference in the 100. After an epic battle in the 5000 meter run, Richie LeDonne, John Roberts, and Jeff Carman came in second, third, and fourth in conference in that order, John crossing only one hundredth of a second behind Richie, and Jeff just over a second behind John. Eric Wilton had a solid performance coming in second in conference in both the high jump and the 110-meter high hurdles, and third the 400-meter hurdles.

Other strong performance include Sam Courtain and Christina Herring both pointing in the 100 meter hurdles and 400 meter hurdles, while David Berman came in second in conference in the 400 meter hurdles and fourth in the open 400.
