Roxanne Gilbride (junior, Bend, Ore.)  was the lone Pioneer to compete at the Willamette Last Chance Meet Thursday in Salem. She threw 125-00 in the javelin, placing her in second in the event, but did not improve on her previous qualifying mark.

The field for the 2008 NCAA III National Championships will be announced on Sunday, May 18. Gilbride's previous mark of 136-9 currently ranks seventh among the qualifiers and should earn her an invitation to the championships. The Pioneers' only other athlete to hit a provisional qualifying mark is Amanda Phillips (senior, Phoenix, Ore.). Phillips currently ranks 29th on the list of 5000m qualifiers and is most likely not going to earn her second trip to Nationals.

The Championships will be held May 20-22 in Oshkosh, Wisconsin.
