2008 Fall Sports Schedules
The 2008 fall schedules for Pioneer cross country, volleyball, women's soccer and football are now available.
Football plays a competitive non-Conference schedule, starting with a game in Illinois against Principia College. The Pioneers other two non-Conference games, one on the road at Claremont, and the other, the home opener against Pomona-Pitzer, should be two very evenly-matched and competitive games for the Pioneers. The Pioneers open Conference play on October 4 with their homecoming game against Pacific Lutheran. Linfield on October 18 and Menlo on November 1 are the other home games this season for the football team. The Lewis & Clark College Athletics Department will once again be providing live webcasting for select Pioneer football games. A complete schedule of webscats will be released later this summer.
The Pionner volleyball opens the season hosting a tournament at the Pamplin Sports Center. The five-team tournament will include Walla Walla, Evergreen, Eastern Orgeon, Northwest Christian, and the host Pioneers. The tournament runs Aug 29-30 and features two simultaneous matches played in Pamplin. The Pioneers also have non-Conference matches against Concordia and Corban before heading to eastern Washington for their Conference openers against Whitman and Whitworth. The Pioneers' first Conference home match is September 27 against Pacific Lutheran. The L&C Dept of Athletics will once again be providing live webcasts of select volleyball road matches. A complete schedule will be released later this summer.
Lewis & Clark's new Head Women's Soccer Coach, Steve Golas, will make his Pioneer coaching debut on September 1 with a home game against Warner Pacific. The Pioneers aso host Cascade College at Griswold on September 3 before playing two non-Conference road games in Washington at Northwest and Evergreen State. They open the Conference season with back-to-back home games against George Fox and Pacific.
The Pioneer cross country team has two home meets, the Pioneer Open, on September 13, and the L&C Invitational on October 18. Both meets will take place at McIver State Park in Estacada. They opne the season again at the Western Oregon Invitational on August 29. The Northwest Conference Championships are being held this year in Walla Walla, Wash. The West Regionals are back in Salem at Bush Pasture Park.
Schedules for men's and women's golf and the non-traditional fall rowing season will be released later this summer.
