Casey Wilson First Team All-NWC
Offensive Lineman Casey Wilson was named to the All-Northwest Conference First Team in post-season honors voted on by the coaches in the Conference. Running Back Joevonte Mayes earned second team honors and six others received honorable mentions.
Casey Wilson (senior, Las Vegas, Nevada) previously earned Second Team honors in 2006 for anchoring the Pioneer offensive line. This is the first First Team recognition for the four-year letter-winner for the Pioneers.
Rookie running back Joevonte Mayes (freshman, Milwaukie, Ore.) was named Second Team All-Northwest Conference. Mayes averaged 64.2 rushing yards per game and was ranked as high as sixth among all Division III players this season in All-Purpose Yards per game. He finished the season averaging 143.6 yards per game in a combination of receiving, rushing, and return yardage.
Also receiving honorable mentions on the offensive side, quarterback AJ Brown (junior, Vancouver, Wash.), wide receiver Mike Wennerlind (senior, Troutdale, Ore.), and kicker Andrew Foote (sophomore, Denver, Colo.). Brown finished the season with 1,278 passing yards. Wennerlind led the team in receptions this season with 25. He also caught two touchdowns. Foote was the team's second-leading scorer, accounting for 24 points this season. Offensive lineman Curtis Smith (sophomore, Santa Margarita, Calif.) also received an honorable mention.
On the defensive side, a pair of senior linebackers earned honorable mentions. Ryan Lockard (senior, Creswell, Ore.) and Ryan Chapman (senior, Fairbanks, Alaska) each posted career-highs in tackles this season, with Chapman logging a team-high 60 tackles and Lockard posting 55.
