Student Athletes Patrol The Streets On Halloween
PALATINE HILL - On Saturday, October 31st, over
70 student- athletes met in Pamplin to eat some pizza, pick up
their PIO PATROL shirts and bags of candy before heading into the
community. The student-athletes monitored various areas the of the
neighborhood around campus between 5 and 7 (with some staying out
long past that time) while the children went trick or treating in
an effort to keep the neighborhood safe, as well as to foster
positive community relations.
The parents and children our student athletes met during their
patrol were all very excited and supportive to see Lewis and Clark
students take on such a positive role in the community. Based on
how successful this year's PIO PATROL was, SAAC is hoping to make
it an annual event so stay tuned for the future!
A special thanks to both the Dean of Students, Celestino Limas and
the Dean of the Chapel, Mark Duntley for their help and support in
making this event possible.
